From a small sleepy port to the world's
busiest port, Singapore is steeped in a maritime history
both colourful and varied. The gallery displays the finest
collection of ship models in Southeast Asia, rare ship
charts, photographs, equipment and artifacts. Proceed to the
Boat Pavilion to discover the evolution of boats. Ingenious
fishing methods of bygone days are revealed in the Kelong,
in the Fisheries Gallery and a section on Man and the Ocean
features exhibits relating to ships and navigation. An
interesting collection of outdoor exhibits includes a
100-year old steam crane.
