The Singapore Art Museum at Bras Basah Road is housed in a beautifully restored school building (the former St. Joseph's Institution). The museum has 13 galleries and is home to the national art collection of Singapore. Since its openning in 1996 the museum's permanent collection has grown from under 2000 art works to over 4000, making it the largest collection of 20th -century Southeast Asian art in the region.

12pm - 6pm Monday
9am - 6pm Tuesday to Sunday
9am - 9pm Friday (free admission after 6pm)

Getting There:
Ideally located at the restored 19th-century old St Joseph's Institution (SJI) building on Bras Basah Road, SAM is easily accessible by public transport.

The following bus routes serve the Singapore Art Museum:
SBS: 7, 14, 16, 36, 97, 131, 162
City Shuttle: 602, 603, 605, 607
TIBS: 77, 167, 171, 700

Alternatively, you can hop on an MRT where SAM is approximately 10 minutes' walk from Dhoby Ghaut / City Hall MRT stations.
