Asian Village aims to give westerners a glimpse into 'asian
life' through street performances, art and craft shops and a
variety food stalls but truth be told for those of us who
live in Asia it feels a bit contrived.
This park showcases ethnic food, arts and crafts, and
architecture from around the region. Discover Indian
architecture at the South Asian Village, savor Oriental food
and browse through souvenir shops at the East Asian Village,
and stroll through Thai, Philippine, Malaysian, and
Indonesian villages in the Southeast Asian Village. You can
go on fun rides in Adventure Asia and ride a paddleboat in
the Central Lagoon. |

East Asia
East Asia is represented by Japan and China. A giant
Tori Gate greets visitors at the entrance to the East
Asian Village, where a unique combination of two
distinctive Japanese and Chinese buildings share a
common courtyard. Japanese-styled shophouses commonly
found in the rural villages of South Western Japan
feature merchandise and crafts, whilst a Chinese cafe
and restaurant set in a Chinese village-house is located
across the courtyard providing frontal views of the
lagoon. |

|
 |
South Asia
Continuing from the East Asia Village across a creek via
a bridge is the South Asia Village, represented by India
and Sri Lanka. At the entrance are three Moghul
pavilions protected by two stone elephants. |

|
 |
South East Asia
Across the lagoon is the South East Asia Village
featuring a Thai Village, a Philippine Village and a
Malaysian/Indonesian Village.
The Thai Village features authentic Thai architecture.
The Thai Pavilion provides a unique setting for special
functions or events. |
